Letter: Rachel Zoe

I only discovered Rachel Zoe, just the other day. She actually does seem to reply to people and care about them, so I decided to take a chance, and send her a message. Read the remainder of the blog entry to see how I asked her for an opinion, some advice, and some help.

EG Smith Markets To Men And Women

It seems that EG Smith has no qualms about marketing to men and women, when they say, "Will fit men and women up to 6 feet and 200 pounds".

I am very distrustful of those who make claims about sizes that fit tall people, but at least they recognize a market demand for it.

Here are 2 weird games that I accidentally found.

These people live in a completely different world than we do. Don't spend too much time there.

LegLuxury.com

A few things have been happening with me and LegLuxury.com. In the remainder of the blog entry, I wrote about 2 of those things: Hallie's response; a couple of styles that could be alternatives for American Apparel's colourful hosiery.

Hallie, from LegLuxury.com made a special effort to comment in 1 of my blog entries. I asked her a question, and then she responded via email. I posted her response, with permission, in the comment area.

Since American Apparel might discontinue their variety of colours, I think that it is important to find alternatives. Since we are on the topic of LegLuxury.com, I'd like to point out that they have 2 bright colours that you might like as alternatives. They are a bit too feminine for tastes, but they are colourful.

If you have any experience with their products, then please post a review.

Article: "American Apparel a hipster darling no more as bankruptcy looms"

Wow. I never thought that I'd see the day: American Apparel a hipster darling no more as bankruptcy looms. I was under the impression that there would always be enough young people to waste enough money to support the business.

The important information to us, though, is that they may discontinue their colourful hosiery, if they decide to rebrand themselves.

In a last-ditch effort to improve flagging sales, Mr. Charney is quickly repositioning the company’s image and clothing style. Earlier this month he declared the hipster trend which has been powering his expansion through the past three years “over.” He is moving his product with its ageing customers, swapping neon bike shorts for preppy blazers.

This disappoints me, because I'm not employed, and I hesitate to spend the cash.

With less colourful hosiery on the market, I suspect that colourful hosiery may go out of style. Maybe it isn't worth stocking up on the stuff, after all.

Interesting.

In this past week, I had visits from KL and Kota Kinabalu. I wonder if these people know each other.

Announcement: Minor Improvement To Blog Entry Jumps

I've tried to improve the text for the link that leads you to the blog entry, to avoid redundant text. I also decided to add better phrasing in the final paragraph before the link, to let you know what is in the remainder of the blog entry.

I haven't gone back to the previous entries to make corrections, so some of them are still a bit weird.

Volunteer With The PNE Parade

As you may have gathered from previous blog entries, I volunteered at the PNE parade, yesterday.

It was a long day, but I've got some great stories about discussing the topic of hosiery with a former manager, about seeing former fellow soldiers, and about how it went.

Made Second Pair Of Shorts Less Baggy

I finally made the second pair of shorts less baggy for yesterday's volunteer work.

Read more for my thoughts on the appearance of them.

Announcement: I'm Distracted With The Possibility Of Asperger Syndrome

I've have discovered that I might have Asperger's syndrome, so I am feverishly pouring through all the information that I can get my hands on. I've even sent a questionnaire to people.

I'll try to start posting blog entries again, soon.

Survey About Men Wearing Hosiery At The Work Place

I thought that it might be worth while for us to take a survey of the hosiery situation. Would you all do the community a favour, and fill in 1 of the surveys below? 1 survey is for men who are currently wearing hosiery in the work place, whether or not they are allowed to. The other is for men who are not currently wearing hosiery in the work place, whether or not they are allowed to. Please do only 1 or the other, but not both.

  • men who do wear
  • men who do not wear

I will create a special page to list all the surveys that I have created, that are still available. The link to the survey page should be easy to find. Just scroll up, and find "Open Surveys".

Read the remainder of the blog entry, if you are curious about what I intend to do with the survey data.

I Volunteer As An ESL Tutor

This will be a good opportunity for me to practice my teaching skills. Even if I cannot learn anything new, at least, I can prevent myself from getting rusty.

Read the remainder of this blog entry for the specifics on how it will benefit us.

Turned 2 Pairs Of Pants Into Shorts

A couple of days ago, I finished hemming up a couple of pairs of pants into shorts. These 2 pairs were done for practice, so that I would be at my best when I convert a brown pair of pants into shorts. I'm looking forward to working on the brown pair.

Read the remainder of the blog entry for more information on what happened.

Hosiery Review: Secret Hosiery Comfy Top [Style #5530] [Opaque Waistband Free Hosiery]

About a week or 2 ago, I tried on Secret's Comfy Top style [style #5530]. I was very pleased with how it felt. I did not wash it ahead of time. It seemed a bit rougher than I would have wanted, but I definitely still found them very pleasurable to touch. So, you can imagine how good it will feel after it gets its first washing. I have a feeling that it will be great.

Article: Lady Gaga Before She Was Famous

This article has some nice photos of Lady GaGa, before she was Lady GaGa: Brunette GaGa BEFORE she was famous. I find her hosiery photos to be immodest, but interesting. It seems that she has a real preference for hosiery, since she wore them in many of her photos before and during her fame.

I've heard her sing on YouTube, and honestly, I'm quite impressed. She has a good voice.

I wonder if she lives a fairly normal life in her private life. I guess that most performers take off their costumes when they are alone, but does she have some kind of weird clothing style in private and public, or does she have some kind of weird clothing style only in public? I have a feeling that she only does in public, and that she's just doing it for attention, which is what most people seem to say.

Article: Zac Efron Not Yet Qualified to Wear Tights -- Vulture

I respect Zac. He views the wearing of tights in a superhero role as a thing to be respected and something to aspire to: Zac Efron Not Yet Qualified to Wear Tights -- Vulture. He puts tights in a good light.

Thanks Zac! You probably weren't thinking of us, when you wrote that, but thank you, all the same.

Article: Cage fighters in tights and tutus - Reading Post

An interesting article showed up in my alerts, many days ago: Cage fighters in tights and tutus. I don't think that this portrays men wearing hosiery very well, but I think about the positives. At least a few guys have become a little more familiar with it, and I suspect that this will make it easier for us in the future.

Don't forget to check out the image gallery.

Used Hosiery: More Information Regarding Sewing Nylon And Spandex

sooz wrote a blog entry on stretch fabrics: sewing with knits. I found that very informative for my goals. I wrote her a comment, and asked about sewing hosiery. She responded. I'll post the short discussion in the remainder of the blog entry for back up. If you have an interest in sewing, then I recommend that you check out her blog entry. Hosiery At The Beach: What Ended Up Happening

I eventually did go to Kitsilano Beach with my hosiery under my shorts. I wore them the entire time. I stayed for about 4 - 5 hours. Nothing bad happened. If anything, I was the person causing the trouble. ;^)

I'm still not sure that I would wear them in the water, though. For those of you who wonder about whether normal people do swim with hosiery: Western Mass, States, Banquet '05. There are more, but those are the only photos that I could find.

Hosiery At The Beach

Tomorrow, I will go to Kitsilano Beach to meet a new friend.

I wonder if I should wear hosiery underneath my shorts. If I go for a swim or walk on sand, then I wouldn't want to get sand in my hosiery. I could wear footless hosiery, but I'm concerned that it could look very feminine.

I have to start the day off as a participant in an experiment, so I'll probably wear something under my shorts, and then take it off later. We'll see how it goes.

I wonder what people in Australia do. My parents went to university in Sydney. Maybe they went to the beach often. Maybe they remember. I seem to recall a program that they had a few years ago to encourage people to cover up.

How I Spent My Birthday

I'd like to give you all a rundown on what happened on my birthday. I'll cross post it to my other main non-hosiery blog, but you all get to see it first.

Before you click the link to read the blog entry, I want to thank 3 of you for wishing me a happy birthday. I was genuinely cheered up because you wrote something. Thank you all.

My Birthday

Tomorrow is my birthday.

Used Hosiery: Sewing Nylon And Spandex

I tried a technique to sew together some hosiery. Basically I cut off sections of a leg of hosiery, and then sewed the ends together to make 2 simple garters to hold up my flashes, when I wear a kilt or shorts.

Overall, I'm very happy about how it turned out for a garter, but I'm a little disappointed in how hard it is to sew nylon and spandex materials. I have a big respect for people sew hosiery. It's a lot harder than it looks. I'm sure that it takes training and practice before the people can work on the actual products. I'm also sure that a lot of it is done by machine, too.

So far, I've tried 2 techniques. The first technique didn't allow the nylon to stretch. The second technique didn't allow it to shorten.

For more ideas, click used, which can also be found in the right column, under Popular Topics.

I Finished Making A Pair Of Kilt Flashes

Now that I have made a pair of kilt flashes, I feel that I'll be a bit more complete, if I wear my black kilt. Also, I could use the flashes with my black shorts. I just wish that it was easier to make the flashes. Making such a low quality product seems like such a waste of time.
