My uncle mentioned that an Asian singer got her legs severely burned, due to an explosion while she wore stockings.
He also revealed that there were "minor burns" on his daughter's face though the majority of her serious burns were on her legs as she was wearing stockings, a particularly combustible article of clothing, when the accident happened on Friday.
"She is just very tired after the operation. We should let her rest as much as possible and get better. It will take two to three weeks for her to recover from this operation," said Ho, adding that the main concern now is to make sure Jen's wounds do not become infected.
This is just the first of many hurdles for Jen on her road to recovery, which observers say may take up to two years.
My uncle also said that China is discouraging women from wearing stockings, because they are unsafe. I have not found any article about that. This accident and the consequences are not going to stop me from wearing. It is good to know, though.
I can see how that can happen. I had a girlfriend who had burned her legs on the exhaust pipe of my motorcycle when she unknowingly leaned against it. She was wearing shorts at that time and the nylons melted to her legs! But she never stopped wearing nylons and the scar has long since faded away.
ReplyDeleteThat's an interesting story. Thanks for sharing. I'm glad that she still wears, because I'd hate to read or hear about another pair of bare legs.
ReplyDeleteI must admit that I was a bit concerned when I read about it. After all, I didn't want to just dismiss it, as if nothing had happened, or as if it weren't a big deal.
I just think that it is not worth being afraid of such things, and it's more worth our while to think about the long term problems that are occurring.
I looked at your profile. I don't understand what is frustrating. Do you mean that it is frustrating to wear hosiery with flip flops? If so, then why don't you try a pair of Tohos?
