Used Hosiery: Tray Covers

Save those meat trays! To prevent things from coming out, just cover the trays with hosiery.

It kind of makes sense. We can use hosiery to hold stuff, as if the hosiery were bags. The meat try would hold the hosiery open, so that it would be easier to pour stuff in and out. Also, the hosiery would prevent insects from landing on the stuff in the tray.
